Powys Environmental Ltd.
A. Hire period is for 2 weeks from point of delivery. After this time a hire charge may be applicable. All skips must be paid for on or before delivery.
B. All skips must be sited on PRIVATE property i.e. Land owned by the hirer, alternatively evidence of permission to use the land must be presented. Skips on highways must have an in-date permit and be clearly marked using lights and cones.
C. Skips must be loaded LEVEL, the driver has the right to use discretion on whether to up-lift a skip as the qualified and licensed operator at that point in time. Any disputes will be resolved between the hirer and Powys Environmental Ltd. In the interest of safety it may be necessary to remove any overloaded waste or hire an additional skip to make the original safe to move.
D. We do not permit burning in skips as this damages the skip and is also a hazard when disposing of the burnt waste. Burnt skips are chargeable to the hirer along with the disposal of the burnt waste.
E. Most waste types can be deposited in the skip, however we need prior notification if you are to dispose of any hazardous waste: i.e. Asbestos, Batteries, Refrigeration equipment, Florescent tubes, Tyres, Chemicals, Paint and Gypsum/Plasterboard. We can arrange separate collection of these wastes.
F. Delivery must be supervised, if unsupervised we cannot accept any claim arising from the sighting of the skip. If the skip is to be up-lifted unsupervised the area surrounding the skip must be left clear of vehicles and other obstructions to a distance of at least 2 meters or we will not accept any claim arising from the up-lift of the skip. If the driver deems it unsafe to up-lift the skip a wasted journey charge may be applicable.
G. Good access is required for our vehicles, the driver may refuse to try to access the property or site where the vehicle may become damaged or there is a safety risk.
